Account & Settings

Profile, theme, subscription, and data management

Account Settings is where you manage your profile, appearance preferences, subscription, and data. You can access it from the user menu at the bottom of the sidebar, available on both the Projects dashboard and within any project workspace.

Profile

Your profile controls how you appear to collaborators and across the Plotiar interface.

Profile Details

Update your display name, profile picture, and view your account email. Your display name appears on comments, collaboration cursors, and shared project activity. Your profile picture is shown next to your name wherever you appear in the app.
  • Change your display name at any time -- the update is reflected everywhere immediately
  • Upload a profile picture or change the existing one by clicking on your avatar in the settings
  • Your email address is the one you used to sign up and is used for account recovery and notifications
TIP
If you signed up with Google, your display name and profile picture were imported automatically. You can still change them to anything you prefer.

Theme

Plotiar supports light and dark themes so you can write comfortably at any time of day.

Light & Dark Mode

Toggle between light mode and dark mode from Preferences > Appearance in Account Settings, or use the quick toggle in the user menu at the bottom of the sidebar. Dark mode reduces eye strain during late-night writing sessions and works across the entire interface -- the Projects dashboard, project workspace, document editor, flowcharts, idea boards, and all dialogs.

Your theme preference is saved to your account, so it follows you across devices and browsers.

Subscription

Plotiar offers three plans: Free, Plus, and Pro. You can view your current plan and manage your subscription from Account Settings.

    Upgrade to Plus or Pro

    Click "Upgrade" in the Subscription section and choose Plus or Pro. You will be taken to a secure Stripe checkout page where you can enter your payment details. Once payment is confirmed, your new tier features are unlocked immediately.

    Manage billing

    After upgrading, click "Manage Billing" to open the Stripe customer portal. From there you can update your payment method, view invoices, change between Plus and Pro, or cancel your subscription.

If you cancel a paid plan, you keep access to its features until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the Free plan. All your projects and content remain intact -- nothing is deleted.

Data Management

You are in control of your data. The Data Management section in Account Settings gives you options to export or delete your information.

  • Export personal data -- download a copy of your account information, including profile details and settings
  • Export projects -- download your projects and their content as files you can keep offline
  • Delete account -- permanently remove your account and all associated data from Plotiar. This action cannot be undone, so you will be asked to confirm before it proceeds
TIP
Before deleting your account, use the export options to save any work you want to keep. Once your account is deleted, your data cannot be recovered.
