Drag And Drop That Lands Right, Friendlier Tables, And Better Android Typing -- Plotiar Product Updates (October 2026)
I dragged a sentence up two paragraphs last week and it landed one word to the left of where I let go. A small miss, easy to fix, and exactly the kind of thing that makes you stop trusting a tool for a second.
This week was about that second. Moving text, working in tables, tracking changes, switching language: the everyday actions that should simply do what your hand meant.
Moving Text Lands Where You Dropped It
Dragging selected text got a careful pass:
- A mouse press on a selection now starts a drag, and ending the press anywhere, even outside the editor, finishes it cleanly.
- Moving text forward in the document puts it exactly at the drop point.
- Dropping text onto itself does nothing, instead of mangling it.
- On touch screens, a finger never starts or completes a text drag by accident. A tap away from the selection while its menu is open places your cursor, and a long press no longer moves the selected word into the middle of another word.
Tables Behave Like Text
Tables had a handful of rough edges, and most of them are gone. A word you select inside a cell is now highlighted, with its menu and handles. Backspace and Delete join paragraphs inside a cell the way they do on the page. Cell text is drawn exactly where the layout placed it, and a collaborator's cursor stays in the table even if someone removes the row it sat in. Their selection between cells is painted too.
If you track changes, deleting a whole table now records the table as deleted, so you can review it and bring it back.
Android Keyboards Listen Better
Sliding your thumb along the space bar now moves the cursor in the editor. After you move the cursor with an arrow key, the keyboard restarts its suggestions from the right place, and it knows where a sentence begins, so capitalization at the start of a sentence in a table cell or after a boundary is right. A word suggestion the editor cannot place is refused rather than dropped into the wrong spot.
Smaller Fixes
When you change the app's language, template names and tags, and genre packs now refresh in the new language instead of staying in the old one. Applying bold or italic to part of a word no longer leaves invisible empty fragments behind.
Next week, more of the same. If a small thing keeps nagging at you, tell us. Those are the ones we like fixing.
