Lore (Story Bible)
Track characters, locations, and world details in a structured story bible with custom types, relationship graphs, mention detection, and AI context injection.
Lore is your story's living memory — a structured, searchable knowledge base for tracking every character, location, faction, object, and world detail in your project. It's designed to replace scattered notes and spreadsheets with a purpose-built story bible that your AI tools can understand.
Erste Schritte
Öffne Lore über die Seitenleiste, wenn du in einem Projekt bist. Bei deinem ersten Besuch siehst du vier Möglichkeiten zum Einstieg:
- •Start Fresh — create entries manually, one at a time
- •Extract from Manuscript — AI reads your documents and suggests entries (Pro)
- •Import — bring in entries from Markdown, CSV, JSON, or plain text
- •Use Template — pick a genre template with pre-configured types and fields
Typen & Einträge
Unlike other tools that lock you into fixed categories, Lore lets you create fully custom types. Each type has a name, icon, color, and configurable default fields. Create types for characters, locations, factions, magic systems, creatures — whatever your world needs.
Each entry has a name, aliases (for mention detection), a description (visible to AI), custom fields, private notes (hidden from AI), tags for organization, and images.
Aliase & Erkennung
Beziehungen & Graph
Connect entries with bidirectional, labeled relationships. Each relationship has a forward label (e.g., "married-to") and an optional reverse label (e.g., "spouse-of"), a type (personal, spatial, organizational, temporal, causal), and cascade depth control for AI context.
Interaktiver Graph
Erwähnungserkennung
Lore uses an Aho-Corasick algorithm to detect entry names and aliases in your documents in real time — with zero AI cost. Detected mentions are highlighted in the editor and appear in the Lore panel. You can configure case sensitivity, exclusion words, and toggle detection per entry.
Globales Suchen & Ersetzen
Rename a character across your entire Lore (names, descriptions, aliases, fields, relations, progressions, and notes) with a single operation. Preview all matches before applying, choose which scopes to include, and undo the entire operation with Ctrl+Z.
KI-Funktionen (Pro)
Mit einem Pro-Abo ist Lore tief in die KI von Plotiar integriert:
- •AI Context Injection — your Lore entries are automatically included in Brainstorm Chat conversations, so the AI knows your characters and world
- •Extract from Manuscript — AI reads your documents and suggests entries, aliases, and relationships for your approval
- •Consistency Checking — after AI generates text, check it against your Lore for contradictions
- •Progression Suggestions — AI suggests how entries might change based on your latest writing

Progressionen
Progressions track how entries change over the course of your story. Anchor a progression to a specific chapter or scene. In "addition" mode, new information layers on top of the existing description. In "replacement" mode, it overwrites for all subsequent content. The AI only sees progressions relevant to the point in the story you're working on.
POV Knowledge
POV Knowledge tracks what each POV character actually knows at any point in the story -- which other characters, locations, secrets, and lore they have been exposed to. When a character is the active POV, AI tools can be filtered to only see what that character knows, so generated text and consistency checks respect the character's limited perspective instead of leaking world knowledge.
- •Mark which entries each POV character is aware of
- •Updates per progression -- a character can learn new things as the story unfolds
- •AI Brainstorm Chat and AI Inspect can be scoped to a single POV character
- •Useful for unreliable narrators, mysteries, and ensemble casts where each POV holds different information
Import & Export
Import entries from Markdown (heading-based parsing), CSV (column-based), JSON (structured), or plain text. Export your entire Lore as JSON (re-importable), Markdown, or CSV.
