Typing On Android Finally Keeps Up, Chapters Open Faster, And Plotiar Remembers Where You Left Off -- Plotiar Product Updates (September 2026)

Plotiar Team4 min read

A writer typing on her phone watched autocorrect turn "receive" into "recievreceive." She hadn't mistyped anything -- the keyboard had, and the editor could only see half of what it did. On a different phone, a word typed on Samsung Keyboard would not show up at all until she hit the space bar, and then it could land split across two lines.

Neither of those was a phone problem. They were Plotiar's, and most of what shipped this week closes exactly that kind of gap -- the moments where the editor and a real device disagreed about what had just been typed, tapped, or scrolled to.

Typing On Android Finally Keeps Up

If you write from a phone or tablet, several separate annoyances are now closed together. Gboard's autocorrect could turn a corrected word into a garbled duplicate right at the space bar; it now lands the word it meant to. Samsung Keyboard builds a word one letter at a time, and until now nothing appeared on the page until you hit space -- at which point the word could arrive split across lines or with extra letters stuck to it. It now shows up as you type it, once, in the right place. Turning on Bold or Italic before you start a word used to hide everything you typed until you finished it, and in Korean could quietly insert a character nobody typed; the preview now stays live the whole time. On top of that, tapping a toolbar button no longer closes your keyboard out from under you, undoing an autocorrected word no longer leaves your cursor in the wrong spot, and a letter typed right after finishing a composed word is no longer silently dropped.

Chapters Open Faster, With Less Flicker

Opening a chapter is quicker now, and calmer while it happens. Two loading animations used to run on top of each other for most of the wait, which is why the screen could look like it stuttered; only one shows now, and it doesn't flash again right before your text appears. The editor also stops waiting to find out who else is in the document before showing you the page -- you see your chapter the moment it's ready, and your collaborators show up a beat later.

Plotiar Remembers Where You Left Off

Plotiar already reopened your last chapter on mobile. It now does the same from a laptop: open the app and it puts you back in the project and document you were last working on, instead of the projects grid. Typing the site's address directly, or hitting refresh, now takes you to your projects the way it should, rather than bouncing you back into whatever chapter happened to be open. And the "pick up where you left off" suggestion on your dashboard now points at the project you actually last touched -- it had been confusing two different ways Plotiar identifies a project, and could recommend the wrong one, or nothing at all. If you skip the setup questions when you first sign up, you'll now land somewhere you can actually start writing, instead of an empty screen.

Bigger Tap Targets, Steadier Mobile Mode

On a phone or tablet, the rows in your sidebar -- your list of projects and the chapters inside one -- are now sized so a finger can actually land on them; several were less than half the height they needed to be. And if you use a tablet with a keyboard and mouse attached, Plotiar no longer flips itself into and out of mobile layout mid-sentence just because the mouse went idle and then moved again.

One more worth a line: if you try to share a project with someone and it doesn't go through because they don't have a Plotiar account yet, you'll now be told that directly, with the obvious next step, instead of a flat "failed to send."
