AI Studio Regenerate, a Steadier Mobile Keyboard, and Readable Voice Profiles -- Plotiar Product Updates (July 2026)

A few years ago I spent an evening cutting a slow chapter down by half, closed the laptop pleased with myself, and opened it again the next morning to find every cut sentence back in place -- like the edit had never happened. Nothing was actually gone from the file somewhere; the version on screen just did not match the version I had actually made. That specific flavor of confusion -- doing the work, watching it succeed, and then having it quietly slide back to how it was -- is the throughline for most of what we fixed this stretch. If you regenerated something with AI Studio, tapped to write on a tablet or a phone lying flat, or opened a calendar item recently, there is a decent chance you ran into a version of this, and now you should not again.

AI Studio Regenerate Actually Regenerates Now

Regenerating existing content through AI Studio -- rewriting a chapter, a character sheet, anything you already owned -- was failing outright for essentially every attempt, with a permission-style error that had nothing to do with your actual permissions. Generating new content straight into a folder had the same problem. Both are fixed, so a regenerate you start now runs the way it is supposed to.

Even the regenerates that did succeed were not fully trustworthy. The panel would show you a success message, but the content you saw right after clicking regenerate was not guaranteed to stick -- reopen the item later and the old and new text could show up interleaved, as if the rewrite had only half taken. And the safety snapshot AI Studio takes before it starts, the one meant to protect you if a regenerate goes wrong, could itself fail outright and block the whole operation. All three pieces of that chain are fixed together, so a regenerate you run today is the one you get back tomorrow.

The Keyboard Now Shows Up On Tablets And Sideways Phones

A couple of weeks back we fixed tapping into the editor doing nothing at all on a phone. This pass covers the shapes of screen that slipped through that fix. Tablets, and phones held sideways, were still being treated as desktop devices, so tapping in raised no keyboard and no cursor -- the editor simply was not listening for a touch the way it should have. And on Android, Samsung phones in particular, the keyboard had a habit of popping up for a moment right after you tapped in and then disappearing, which is arguably more frustrating than never showing up at all. Both are fixed. Tapping to write now behaves the same way regardless of what device or orientation you are holding.

Dialogue Voice Profile Reads As An Actual Document

AI Studio's Dialogue Voice Profile tool used to hand you back a document titled "Generated Content" containing a raw, unformatted dump instead of anything readable. It now generates a properly laid-out document: each character's speech patterns, verbal tics, dialect notes, and a handful of example lines, plus a side-by-side comparison so you can actually check whether two characters sound different from each other on the page instead of only in your head.

Smaller Fixes Worth Knowing About

Calendar and map items could occasionally open in the plain document editor instead of their own view, mislabeled as a document they were not. That is fixed, and both content types now consistently open where they belong. Separately, if your project activity included a bookmark alongside calendar or map items, the statistics page could fail to load at all rather than showing you anything -- also fixed, so the page loads no matter what kind of content you have been working in.

That chapter I cut still exists somewhere as a decent example of what "not quite fixed" feels like from the other side of the screen. What you do to your project this week should look the same the next time you open it. Nothing more mysterious than that.
