Install Plotiar as an app on any device

Plotiar can be installed as a standalone app on any device -- directly from your browser. No app store, no download, no installer. It runs in its own window with its own icon, and it is always up to date.

Installing takes a few seconds. Pick your platform below for step-by-step instructions.

Windows

Chrome or Edge

Open Plotiar
Go to app.plotiar.com in Chrome or Microsoft Edge.

Click the install icon
Look for the install icon (a small monitor with a down arrow) in the right side of the address bar.

Confirm installation
Click "Install" in the popup that appears. Plotiar is added to your Start menu instantly.

TIP

You can pin Plotiar to your taskbar by right-clicking the icon in the Start menu and selecting "Pin to taskbar".

macOS

Chrome or Edge

Open Plotiar
Go to app.plotiar.com in Chrome or Microsoft Edge.

Click the install icon
Click the install icon in the right side of the address bar, or go to the browser menu and select "Install Plotiar...".

Confirm installation
Click "Install" in the dialog. Plotiar appears in your Applications folder and Launchpad.

TIP

Drag the Plotiar icon from Launchpad to your Dock for quick access.

iOS (iPhone & iPad)

Safari only

Open in Safari
Go to app.plotiar.com in Safari. This does not work in Chrome or other browsers on iOS.

Tap Share
Tap the Share button (the square with an upward arrow) at the bottom of the screen.

Add to Home Screen
Scroll down in the share sheet and tap "Add to Home Screen". Tap "Add" to confirm.

TIP

Plotiar opens full-screen on iOS with no browser UI -- it looks and feels like a native app.

Android

Chrome

Open Plotiar
Go to app.plotiar.com in Chrome.

Tap the install prompt
Chrome shows an "Install app" banner at the bottom of the screen. Tap it. If you don't see it, tap the menu (three dots) and select "Install app".

Confirm
Tap "Install" in the dialog. Plotiar appears on your home screen.

TIP

On Android, the installed app runs full-screen and appears in your app drawer just like apps from the Play Store.

Linux

Chrome or Edge

Open Plotiar
Go to app.plotiar.com in Chrome or Microsoft Edge.

Click the install icon in the address bar.

Click "Install". Plotiar is added to your application launcher.

What You Get

Own window

Plotiar runs in a dedicated window with no browser tabs, address bar, or distractions.

System integration

Switch to Plotiar with Alt+Tab (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+Tab (macOS), just like any other app.

Home screen icon

Launch Plotiar from your desktop, dock, Start menu, Launchpad, or home screen.

Full-screen on mobile

On phones and tablets, Plotiar runs full-screen -- no browser chrome, just your writing.

Updates

Plotiar updates automatically. When a new version is deployed, you will see a small "Update available" notification. Click it to refresh and get the latest version instantly.

You never need to download or reinstall anything. The app checks for updates in the background and keeps itself current.

Uninstalling

Uninstalling the app does not delete your work. Your projects and data stay safely in the cloud and are accessible at app.plotiar.com.

•Windows — Right-click the app in the Start menu and select Uninstall, or go to Settings > Apps.
•macOS — Open the app, click the three-dot menu in the title bar, and select "Uninstall Plotiar". Or delete it from your Applications folder.
•iOS — Long-press the app icon and tap "Remove App" > "Delete App".
•Android — Long-press the app icon and drag to "Uninstall", or go to Settings > Apps.
•Linux — Remove it from your application launcher or uninstall via Chrome's app management page (chrome://apps).
